To help our advertisers get to know our community better, here are some highlights from our SnowSeekers annual readers survey with 900+ readers, from July 28 - August 17, 2026.

1. High-engagement content directly drives bookings

  • Almost 40% of our community visits SnowSeekers …daily!

  • Over 60% of respondents confirm SnowSeekers has put a new ski resort on their list, have made the visit or have intent to book there

2. Dedicated, Core Audience with Strong Purchasing Power

  • Over 70% of 900+ respondents ski or ride 10+ days in a season 

  • 45% of SnowSeekers’ respondents spend more than $3,000 annually on Alberta and BC ski/ride trips (14% spend more than $6,000 annually)

3. Key Destination Influences and Research Habits

  • 33% of respondents plan to visit three or more resorts this season

  • 15% plan to visit six or more

1. High-Engagement Content Directly Drives Bookings

There is a powerful, measurable correlation between how frequently readers engage with SnowSeekers content and their likelihood to book a ski trip.

  • Direct conversions: 121 readers explicitly stated they booked a ski trip because of SnowSeekers content; another 470 readers noted they were introduced to a new resort or trip idea but haven't booked yet. That's over half of survey respondents who are influenced in their winter travel decisions by SnowSeekers.
  • Daily readers lead conversions: among readers who follow SnowSeekers content daily, 34.8% (47 respondents) have booked a trip because of it.
  • Weekly readers follow closely: for weekly readers, 16.4% (50 respondents) have made a booking based on content recommendations.

2. Dedicated, Core Audience with Strong Purchasing Power

The survey reveals that SnowSeekers caters to an exceptionally dedicated and passionate community of skiers and snowboarders who allocate significant budgets to winter sports.

  • Avid skiers/riders: our audience is highly active; 346 respondents ski or ride 20+ days a typical season, and 271 respondents hit the slopes 10–19 days.
  • Substantial trip budgets: annual household budgets for ski/snowboard trips are robust. The largest segments are $1,500–$3,000 (318 respondents) and $3,000–$6,000 (279 respondents).
  • Affluent demographics: the core audience is primarily aged 25–54 (accounting for over 70% of all respondents). Older demographics command the highest budgets; 11.6% of readers aged 55–64 have an annual ski trip budget exceeding $10,000+.

3. Key Destination Influences and Research Habits

Understanding what motivates readers to select a resort helps tailor content to their specific decision-making drivers.

  • Top 3 priorities: when choosing a ski destination, snow conditions & terrain (793 mentions) is the ultimate priority, followed closely by price/value (668 mentions) and distance/travel time (662 mentions).
  • Trusted research channels: while resort websites are the most common tool for trip research (616 mentions), SnowSeekers ranks as a premier authority with 465 mentions, outperforming general social media platforms and online forums.
  • Ambitious winter goals: readers are eager to explore multiple destinations; the majority of respondents (307 individuals) hope to visit exactly 3 different ski resorts this coming winter season, while 125 individuals plan to visit 6 or more.
