Seekers celebrating north Okanagan soul with new regional tourism venture

SilverStar mountain village summer events, north Okanagan BC

July 4, for immediate release

New collab with Destination Silver Star, Tourism Vernon & Destination BC all about local soul in north Okanagan

Mayla Janzen calls it “the largest flash mob happening weekly in Vernon.”

With a tagline like that, who wouldn’t want to check out the Polson Night Market on a Friday night in Vernon? Or how about a summer music series in the colourful alpine village at Silver Star, running every Saturday?

Tours of local Indigenous gardens (as insight into local syilx culture), trail races with monikers like “Brokenagan” and hikes with the Monashee Trail Society, it’s all part of the north Okanagan’s soulful scene.

Seekers Media is excited to partner with Destination Silver Star, Tourism Vernon and Destination BC in a feature production about locals who lead the north Okanagan scene with heart.

Our community is all about local experiences, Indigenous connections and nature time to ground you, and this story brings it all together.

"Celebrating local souls in the north Okanagan just rings true, this is who they are and I've personally seen it, spending several months a year here over the last couple seasons" says Jim Barr, of Seekers Media.

"Seekers Media is excited to partner in this, and in supporting the growth of north Okanagan as a DMO and rising tourism destination, through our creative media approach."

Another exciting piece to this campaign is a new content collaboration with Seekers Media and Indigenous new media company reGEN Impact Media, who are feature this campaign's content in their magazine, The Story of Us

In addition, over on, you’ll find a roundup of local north Okanagan events for 2024 covering now through fall in Vernon and area.

It's all part of our #exploreVernon expedition, a tourism marketing campaign now 5+ years in, delivering media content, social media marketing and tourism development support to this awesome region.
